For Sarah – The African Princess, 2017
Hommage to Sarah Forbes Bonetta (1843) who was a young girl born into royalty at Oke-Odan, an Egbado Village in Ogun State. She was orphaned during an intertribal war, sold into slavery, and due to her remarkable intelligence, was later liberated from enslavement to be raised as a goddaughter to Queen Victoria of Great Britain.
This series shows her dual identity as well as pays tribute to her courage, strenght and resilience.
