Cheminements Artistiques – Mostafa Maftah

African Arty is proud to present ‘Cheminements Artistiques’, a brand new event that opens the doors to the world of Mostafa Maftah, an emblematic artist on the Moroccan contemporary scene. This unique opening, to be held on Wednesday 25 September at 7pm, invites the public to immerse themselves in an intimate atmosphere, where the artist will welcome guests as if they were at home, offering a privileged moment of sharing and discovery.

In this innovative concept, the gallery is transformed to recreate Mostafa Maftah's personal studio, allowing visitors to discover his works in an authentic setting. Among the works on show is ‘Fire in Ocean’ (1979), a masterly 110×190 cm tapestry that illustrates the artist's creative wealth. The event offers a rare opportunity to witness the creative process live, to engage in dialogue with the artist and to learn more about his sources of inspiration, his thoughts and the stories behind his works.

‘Cheminements Artistiques’ is not just an exhibition, but an immersion in the artist's daily life. It's a living experience where art comes to life, revealing Mostafa Maftah's inner journeys.

An artist with an international career, Maftah has exhibited in Morocco, France, Italy and Spain, among other countries. His work was also presented at the inaugural exhibition of the Mohamed VI Museum in 2014, ‘1914- 2014 Cent ans de création’ (‘1914 - 2014 - One Hundred Years of Creation’).
