About

On the occasion of her solo exhibition, Chez nous, même le silence est bruyant, at the African Arty gallery from February 13 to March 31, 2025, Yasmine Hadni presents a journey that is to be seen, heard, and felt through a collection of paintings, screen prints, and a sound piece.

Her work is framed by her life, embedded in her story. Meticulously, the artist continually retraces her steps without retreating. She navigates two fronts simultaneously: the relationship with oneself and the relationship with others. She delves into childhood and its grip on the construction of our personalities. She also explores otherness within her family and the broader context of Moroccan bourgeoisie. With a voice shaped by both, she creates “another reality” where childhood scenes and family dynamics dominate. She harmonizes personal introspection and social commentary, the internal and the external, through the fiction of autobiography.
