Mouad EL Bissaoui
Mouad El Bissaoui (Marrakech, 1996) is a multidisciplinary conceptual artist and a graduate of the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tétouan.
With a sarcastic tone, he is currently engaged in a critical reflection on the (power) games and tools of political, economic, and social manipulation.
Through his diverse artistic practices—ranging from drawing to installation and performance—he deconstructs dominant languages and underlying narratives that aim to standardize individuals. Writing also plays a key role in his approach, drawing inspiration mainly from Arabic poetry, which he admires for its composition and eloquence.
In 2022, Mouad was awarded the Mustaqbal Prize, and in 2024 he won the prestigious Eeckman Prize.
