About

"And Beyond..." is the title of the inaugural exhibition at African Arty's new gallery space in Casablanca, opposite the CFC, the new business district. The 500m² space makes it the largest art gallery in Casablanca and includes the exhibition space as well as a studio for artists in residence.

The title "Au-Delà..." should be considered in several ways.

The first is the gallery's vocation to defend the colors of artists from the entire African continent since its creation in 2019. From South Africa to Morocco, via West and East Africa to artists of the diaspora, African Arty has always wanted to go beyond borders and try to discover new horizons. With a wealth of knowledge and an international network built up over more than 10 years in France, London at Christie's and with the great Lebanese collector Tony Salamé, gallery founder Jacques-Antoine Gannat puts his expertise at the service of artists, collectors, institutions and the general public.

This major exhibition, bringing together thirteen artists of varied origins and techniques, from figurative and abstract painting and landscape to photography and the mixed technique of embroidery on fabric canvas, is intended as a synthesis, if such a thing is possible, of the work begun over four years ago by African Arty.

"And Beyond..." also marks a new stage in the gallery's history. After several years in a flexible, independent format, with temporary exhibitions and a program of international fairs, African Arty opens its 500m2 space, including the exhibition space and an artists' studio, to welcome local and international talent on an ongoing basis.

Residencies and exhibitions throughout the year will be complemented by a program of discussions, book signings and presentations, as well as visits from students and schoolchildren who will be able to take part in training workshops given by the artists in residence.

Rather than a simple exhibition space, African Arty aims to be "Beyond", welcoming visitors and collectors alike.
